AN ALL TOO COMMON PROBLEM

Often when someone comes in for a private lesson or class, they have a list of body issues bothering them. Most of the time they’re suffering from accumulated and unprocessed stress and trauma that takes many forms.

  • Poor sleep patterns

  • Anxiety and fatigue

  • Weakened immune system

  • Body aches

  • Joint pains

  • Restricted range of motion

Someone will come in complaining of restricted range of motion and chronic pain in the head, neck, or shoulders. This is not surprising when they have so much tension in their back, chest, and ribs, it feels like a turtle shell. Long gone is the soft, supple tissue of a healthy body. It is replaced by rigid, hard tissue that feels more like wood or stone. By cleaning out the accumulative stress and trauma, restoring circulation, and lowering nerve-tone, you can restore the body back to its original healthy state.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Movement Daily covers a wide range of disciplines and provides you with a well-rounded educational experience. However, sometimes you have very specific areas you wish to address and would like additional assistance to promote the changes you are looking to achieve. Private sessions give you the opportunity to have hands-on personal instruction, specifically tailored to meet your needs and goals.

  • Personal schedule

    • Single or reoccuring lessons available

    • Flexible to adjust around your schedule

    • Can reserve regular time slot just for you

  • Fulfill your needs

    • You set the agenda for each lesson

    • Paced just for your learning needs

    • Offers privacy for difficult areas of exploration

  • Sustainable health, mobility, and fitness

    • Relieve your stress and anxiety

    • Overcome your injuries and prevent new ones

    • Targeted performance enhancement

PRIVATE TRAINING Sessions

Sessions are generally 1 hr, but may be extended to 1.5 hrs depending on the situation. It's important your nervous system is in a calm state before leaving to insure proper recovery and adaptation. Sometimes this may require us to extend past 1 hr. This is done at my discretion at no additional charge.

For your first session please allow for 1.5–2 hrs if possible. This gives us extra time to discuss your goals and current condition, evaluate current movement, and learn some useful drills.

If you have a hard stop scheduling restriction for any session please make sure you let me know upon arrival. I can then adjust our training appropriately. Thanks.

EXPERIENCED AND ADAPTABLE TRAINING

First let me be perfectly clear; I am not a licensed Physical Therapist. My career has made me a specialist in understanding the relationships between breathing, movement, the nervous system, psyche, nutrition, and cellular energy production. I train movement and wellness practices in the whole body as a coach and trainer, not a PT. I have 30 years experience teaching students ages 5–75.

Movement training is about more than your typical corrective exercises. Training full body movement stimulates change throughout the whole system, not just isolated symptoms. Together we take an inside out approach stimulating changes in circulation, chemistry, and nervous system reflexes to promote healing and growth. It's a process to improve your quality of living for years to come.

Over the last 20 years I have had considerable personal experience working with a wide variety of special needs circumstances including:

  • Mitochondrial Disease Leigh's Syndrome Complex IV

  • 4p Deletion Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome

  • Developmental Motor Control Issues

  • Hormone Imbalances

  • Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - Hypermobility

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Amputees

  • Joint replacement / reconstruction

  • Polio

  • Blindness

  • Organ Transplant

  • Cancer, Von Hippel & Leukemia

  • PTSD / Anxiety / Panic Attacks

  • Abuse Victims

  • Phobias

  • OCD

  • Bipolar

  • Speech Impediment

EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

My special needs experience has taught me that while your movement or work load may be different than what is considered typical, it is no less important. Your body is healthiest when it moves everyday. It needs movement to function properly. When living with chronic disease or dysfunction it becomes even more important to keep moving and have a healthy baseline to help the body compensate and adapt.

Often it's the secondary complications that come out of a condition that are the most damaging to our health. A physical limitation may lead to false boundaries about what our bodies can do. This can then lead to further stress and dysfunction that makes living with a disability even harder.

By regularly challenging your movement capacity you stimulate the nervous system, and improve circulation. These two simple things alone can lead to significant changes in health and quality of life.

Movement sessions give you and loved ones the principles and skills to insure that movement is happening on a daily basis without my presence. The work you do on your own everyday has far more impact than anything I can do in a couple of hours a week. I’ll help you take back some control in what often feels like a powerless situation.
